Hi, I decided to blog about my favorite subject - the current day music scene in SF.
I first became interested in the music of this region about 5 years ago. I read a lot of books about the historical Hippie & Beatnik era, but could not find much literature on the current day scene. This lead me to interview a couple of dozen local performers and create a book on the topic myself. 'San Francisco Music Vibes of the 2000's' came out late 2005. I continue to follow the music of the area, particularly Indie/Alt bands, in most genres.
My personal favorite bands, that I would recommend to anyone searching for samples of SF music, would include: Madelia, Keith Varon, Paradise Boys, Little Yellow Perfect, Astral, Sputterdoll, Sinister Dexter & Elephone.
I hope to post a blog once a week, in order to update anyone who is also interested in the music of this area with the information, news, and updates that I have collected throughout the week.
