Weekend concerts & folding bands
October 17th 2007 16:38
Starting with Friday, You can go to the Red Devil Lounge to hear Noah Heldfond in concert, along with the Cast of Thousands album release. The music begins at 9pm.
Alternatively, Finding Mercury, You Said Saturday, and As A People share a show on Friday night at Blake's on Telegraph.
Keith Varon will be playing an all-age show on October 20th at Blake's on Telegraph. Doors will open at 8pm.
Ryan Lendt can be heard on October 20th at Town Square, Vacaville, at 10am. He has another show on the same date - this time a 7pm concert at Pyramid Alehouse in the Walnut Creek suburb.
The Tubes have a show coming up that is 'just a little way' out of town. They will be performing at the Last Day Saloon in Santa Rosa, which is 'carfully' North of the city. Their show is on October 20th and is set for 8:30pm. It will cost you $25, and I have a little information about the venue to share:
QUOTE: "It's a fairly small hall with limited seating. Big dance floor.
If you should make a dinner reservation at least one day prior to the show
you will get reserved seating in the showroom. The Last Day Saloon is located
at 120 5th St. Santa Rosa, CA. For reservations, call 707-545-5876. You can
buy tix from their website at www.lastdaysaloon.com or at the saloon. Please spread the word cause I'd like to see the joint packed for them. Prairie is gonna be there as well. The last time they played there the place was only a little over half full.
There's actually 3 bars in the place. 2 in the showroom and one in the main
lounge. When the show's over people migrate to the bar in the main lounge to
continue partying and the Tubes hang out there to talk and sign stuff. Cat
McClean opens for them at 8:30 and the Tubes will probably go on around 10:15 or
make it please come. Let's give them a great turnout!"
Mercy Killers & TSOL play Slim's on 21st October. It is a $13/8pm show.
In non-concert news, a couple of local bands have recently left the scene. Forsaken played their final show on October 14th at the Boardwalk, whilst Nasty Habits have also decided to disband.
QUOTE: "As of today, The Nasty Habits project will no longer be. Due to uncertainties and conflicting schedules amongst my fellow friends and musicians, the project has been put on permanent hiatus.
It is unfortunate that such promising project could come to a hold like this. The road ends here for such a great project. I however, will continue my journey in pursue of my dream and goal while at the same time take lessons to better my craft as a drummer. I would like to thank our friends and fans that have made this wild ride what it was for the three and a half years that we rocked. Long live rock n' roll!"
Additionally, Sputterdoll are soon to be 'taking a break', so you might want to slap down their last few concert dates in your diary: October 24, November 4th, and November 24th. I will post details as these dates come closer.
