WARREN TEAGARDEN CD REVIEW
April 14th 2008 16:45
As Warren Teagarden releases his next album, I take my attention to his former self-titled disc for review. The lyrics are provided in printed format in the CD booklet, which comes complete with interesting cover art by Clayton Lemessurier and Jesse Watson. The overall CD design being by Billy Davidson. Along with drums by Joe Oviedo, Warren wrote and performed all seven songs.
JENNIFER'S DEAD offers slow and deep, country-show styled vocals topping a rock tune.
THE BALLAD OF BOB AND BERNICE provides listeners with a rock-country ballad, containing banjo-twang.
VALLEY OF THE SUN connects with Aztec-Maya culture, presenting us with repetitive lyrics covering a reverb-twang effect and rocking drums.
NO CONGRATULATIONS is a song with a bouncing beat and catchy chorus. Guitar strandings bring a live reality to the recorded track.
COME TO BED is a mellow drawling twang-ballad with lively inserts.
THE CALAVERAS LINE gives a boppy beat topped with clear vocals.
AMERICAN SONG moves you sway fully as you encounter the country-drawl styled singing.
