Slim's offers San Franciscans an all age live music venue situated in the SoMa district. It is situated at 333 11th Street ad the phone contact is 415-255-0333. Among the foods that are always available are fries or onion rings for $5, Cheese-filled Jalapeno Poppers or Hummus & Pita with Veggies for $6, Cheddar & Broccoli Potato Skins for $8, as well as nachos, burgers and sandwiches. The most expensive menu item is $15 for the Enchilada Platter with rice, beans, sour cream & greens and either cheese or chicken. Additionally, you can purchase dinner tickets for whatever is on the menu for the night you attend.
The venue opened in 1988. Among the music genres heard at Slim's are Blues, Alternative, R&B, Jazz, and Cajun. The venue has won several awards, including the best American nightclub award from Pollstar Magazine on five occasions across the past 11 years and 'Best Bar & Club' by San Francisco Chronicle readers on at least two occasions. During August 09 bands that have/will play Slim's include: Jesse Winchester, The Frail, Honest Thomas, Seabird, Orchid, Slowfinger, The Buttercream Gang, Pep Love, and Jason Webley.
