Open daily, local and international acts regularly appear live, with many CD releases being staged at this venue. Most music genres are represented, including alternative, hard rock, folk, funk, rock-a-billy, punk, & pop. BOTH offers a full bar, a pool table, a variety of food, and a patio area for smokers wishing to indulge. This club is additionally available for: private parties, showcases, & events. Hours are generally: Friday, 4pm-2am (Happy Hour - 4-7pm) and other days, 4-8pm-2am. (Food is available from opening til 11-12.)
Rolling Stone magazine says (quote) "the best place to hear live music in San Francisco." BOTH has won a Readers' Poll Best Of The Bay award for Rock venue on several occasions. BBQs sometimes happen and occasionally there is an all age show, though mostly BOTH is 21 . This venue only accepts cash payments.
Local and international bands that have previously played the venue include: The Mars Volta, Green Day, Death Cab for Cutie, The Lovemakers, The White Stripes, Alanis Morissette, Oasis, Marilyn Manson, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and Cake. Coming up/recently appeared bands include: 20 Minute Loop, Gates of Light, Sassy!!!, Audio Out Send, Casy and Brian, Scissors for Lefty, Rademacher, the Hot Toddies and Birdmonster.
