January 26th 2009 17:43
Annie's Social Club is situated in the SOMA district at 917 Folsom Street, SF. It opens Monday to Saturday until 2am, with Happy Hour from 5-7 on weekdays. You can telephone the venue on (415) 974-1585. You can find out current details by visiting their Myspace page at Really Long Link or at Really Long Link
Formerly known as The C.W. Saloon and The Cherry Bar, Annie's has been Annie's since January 2006. I often add live shows at Annie's to the gig-list here at SFMN.com, as some of the more familiar, local, interesting, and talented bands play this venue. Taking January as an example, ticket prices range from no cover to $12, which is ratable as great to reasonable in my eyes and I hope to visit in person sometime later this year, when next in SF. Tickets for shows can be grabbed in advance on ticketweb.com.
Selecting a sample of bands you can/could have heard live in January, you will find: BLACK MOON RITUAL, LACK OF INTEREST, HIGH HORSE, THE B CUPS, THE PENNY DREADFULS, DRUNKEN MONKEY, GRAYCEON, & that much loved local band, MALDROID. As well as live music, Annie's hold karaoke nights, have a full-range bar, and some form of entertainment available on 6-7 nights of the week. Former customers say that Annie's caters to various musical interests, ranging through Brit Pop and Punk to Rock and Goth.
