The following was recently brought to my attention, and may be of interest to any TUBES fans who enjoy making - as well as hearing - the music…
QUOTE: "The TUBES Tribute CD is just that, a CD of recordings of Tubes’ song from fans as they interpret and pay tribute to the TUBES.
Fans will record their favorite Tubes song for the compilation which the Tubes Museum will oversee and produce. The Tubes Fan Tribute CD will be released following selection of the songs, mastering of the compilation and the printing of the CD.
The CD will be released through the Tubes Museum. Artists on the CD will receive their own copies of the finished project. Proceeds from the sales of the CD will be split between production costs and the Haight Street Free Clinic in San Francisco, California.
There will be 1,000 copies printed of the TUBES Tribute CD The number of songs will depend on the number of submissions and the amount funded for the project.
Submissions are welcome on a variety of formats. The songs will be recorded in your studios. Technical standards will be forwarded to contributors as the project progresses.
The end CD will be of high quality in audio and artwork.
Graphic Artists are welcome to submit album and CD covers.
An application is required for all submissions. There will be information on the application that will help us produce this CD and get your credits listed. All applications require a fee which is strictly applied to the production of the CD. Additional sales of the CD will be required and these proceeds will be split between any production costs still outstanding, the San Francisco Haight Street Free Clinic and the band’s discretion.
Graphic Art work Application Fee is $20.00 and will include one CD compilation. There will be art work opportunities on the front cover, the back cover, the disk label and booklet
The Music Application Fee of $75.00 will include two compilation CDs for the recording artist.
Only one song per artist will be included on the CD.
Bands / Artists can submit multiple songs with only one Music Submission Fee.
Songs not included on the compilation will be returned less $20.00 to cover shipping and handing
The museum reserves the right to make alterations or changes to the project model with the objective of a finished CD worthy of showing the world as well as to your Grandmother.
