The TUBES LOVE BOMB event…

A quick interlude to my concert postings, to allow readers to see how I participated on the recent VALENTINE'S DAY event organized @ the TUBES MUSEUM.

This photographic duo records my participation and pleasure at hearing such a familiar and appropriate tune - (despite needing to play it at a set hour - the doing of which messed up my mealtime and work-schedule!)
I was determined to 'join in' with this 'fans ' event, celebrating a traditional occasion in a musical way along with other fans of a decent band. (I wonder how many speakers got blown up with that LOVE BOMB sound bomb?) Now, next year - or decade - will we have a Madelia Valentines Day event, I wonder?
I will mention that I was a seriously dedicated TUBES fanatic from the mid nineties thru the early 2000's and despite currently preferring different San Francisco bands, still play those Tubes discs of mine - and keep in touch with their fans/members/ex-members via chat-boards, email, &…
(Let's face it, if you like a band that’s playing REALLY good music, you NEVER let 'em go, do you?)
I actually participated on the local-area date & time, being currently stranded far, far away from my beloved bands in Wollongong, NSW, Australia. On the actual day itself - Californian date/hours, which I generally tend to keep, but did not on this occasion due to an appointment of indistinguishable length, which luckily did not last as long as expected - I was busy playing some other cool Bay Area music…
This picture depicts my Valentine's garden-rose display, music chosen by my heart - the latest Madelia and Astral albums - and - um, MY very own personal valentine, the beautiful, admiring, devoted, adoring, lovable, darling of my love-flowing heart - Smokey the pigeon! He sat attentively upon my windowsill for more than half the day, sharing the music - along with the crumbs from my nachos meal! This shot is of him relaxing to the Astral CD.
But enough about my pigeons! You can always read more about THEM at another of my regular posting-sites, www.birdstory.com if interested! My next post will cover concerts from 23 to 25 February, and should be posted Monday or Wednesday next week!
(If anyone is curious in regard to my tee shirt - YES it is a band-tee, but NO it is not a SF band. It is a Californian band though, they play REAL new rock with some covers thrown in to boot, and their music can be sampled at www.shadesofday.net )
