The Paper Sons Fine Line EP review
September 3rd 2007 16:21
Capable, adaptive vocals king it out over their rushing, rapid-rock sound, accompanied by energetic drumming, providing a 'gotta bop' collection you cannot sit still to. If your hips are not swaying, your toes will surely be tapping along to this 5-track EP.
'Shape of Things to Come' is the first song, providing a boppy piece with concentrated vocals.
The softer, cylindrical track 'Let Me Go' is kept pacy by effervescent drums.
'Now I Know' contains tuneful bass and guitars and ever enthusiastic drumming, along with the clear vocals.
The penultimate track 'Honest' has a slow start and would be the weakest song from this collection, possibly coming over far better in a live situation than via a recording.
All instruments and vocals fit together well on 'Fine Line' which is the final track. It is a bouncy toe-tapper that you cannot help but bounce along with.
