INTERVIEW WITH WICKED MERCIES
September 23rd 2009 03:30
Q: How did the band first start playing together?
A: Randy the drummer and James the guitarist were in a similar band that broke up, but we wanted to upgrade to a higher octane of female vocalists.
Q: Your music style is refreshingly different - how would you yourselves describe the sound?
Q: You have had a share of success already in 2009, being featured as the Myspace tune of the week and on the Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show in January, and KUSF in May. What plans has the band made for the next
6-12 months?
A: We plan to release an EP and tour Europe.
Q: Has the band changed much since it first began - or do you still have the same line up and similar goals?
A: The vocalists have changed except for one, we have had a couple of musician changes, we feel we have a good combination now of talents and vibe.
Q: Which local venues would you say are the best to play a show at?
A: We always love El Rio, Cafe Du Nord and Great American Music Hall.
Q: Can you recommend some other local bands worth checking out?
A: La Plebe, they are a great live act that have insane horns and a big punk flavor.
Q: Where can interested people check out your music?
A: Really Long Link
Bernal Heights Street Fair, Sunday October 18
The Little Fox Theater, Friday October 23
