Geographer - Animal Shapes EP - 2010 (label - Tricycle Records)
March 10th 2011 17:56
Original Sin - swirling electro intro, leads into clear vox with airy interludes, then wobble fades out.
Kites - electro-melodic start, soon joined by a vocal covering to be followed by tuneful beats.
Paris - an almost oriental drum-accompanied sound leads to the easy to hear vox and cyclically trickling music.
Heaven Waits - the shortest track jumps in with the vocals and a dreamy undertone takes us forward into the main song that gently fades off.
Night Winds - the longest and the last, the track starts with a soft boppy electro melody before the vox add on into the main body of music. The song passes a humming interlude before ending after another session before a fade.
Packed in a pretty design from Katie Wilson, this 6-track is good for both entertaining current fans and as a sample of the band for new listeners. The lyrics are included, although you shouldn’t have any problem catching them as the vox have exceptional clarity. This 3-piece SF band is worth checking out if you haven’t already.
