CD REVIEW: The Frail "Lasers Over Lovers EP" 2011
April 8th 2011 16:37
I have been following the band for some time at Myspace/Facebook and finally got around to purchasing an EP… This recently released collection from The Frail through Tricycle Records offers a similar feel to their earlier EP release, but with stronger retrospective adherence. It continues to be something ‘slightly different’ and therefore worth sticking in your music collection. You can learn more at Really Long Link
Oh Shana - a percussive and melodic intro leads into this 60’s retro song with electro beats. Catchy beats makes you bop your bod along to the shortest track of the collection which ends abruptly.
Can I Keep You - a tuneful start leads into easy-going vox topping a great dancealong tune.
This May Change The World - a trickling tinkly intro, soon joined by percussion, leading into a 70’s style toe tapper. Soft and easy on the ears, you will drift along gently until it ends on a squeak cut.
Sex Is What Sex Sells - the longest track begins with an electro boppy beat. With a seventies feel, this track almost takes you back to the days of disco - it definitely gets your body feeling mobile and ends on a shingle. I have to claim this as my fav from this collection.
Heartbeats - a quiet and gentle start leads into a boppier body for the main tune before a soft ending.
Frenemies - a quiet, reverberating percussive melody starts us off on the final track, that starts for real just as you drift off into space over the calming melodies. The track ends on a vocal exit…
