BLAIR HANSEN ~ REAL WORLD REVIEW

June 19th 2010 09:16
REAL WORLD is an 11-track album from young and beautiful Californian Blair Hansen. Not yet a quarter-century old, Blair has already built up a quality fan base spread across the world. There are no duds on this album; whether you prefer Blair’s sexier side, her gentle folky side, or the showcasing of her varied vocalization talents crammed into a single tune, you get to hear several samples of your option on this CD.

TAKE ME:
Blair’s perky voice covers the guitar-prominent music to present a crisp, delightful initial track.

PRETTY PERSUASION:
A mild seasoning of country-style music. Guitar and twisting twangs start the second song, which is soon joined by Blair’s vox.

REAL WORLD:
The title track has been one of my two fav songs of Blair’s since first hearing them on her Myspazz page last year. The album recording differs slightly in that it is presented with clearer vocals and crisper musical resonance. The lyrics really speak to me keeping this song a firm fav from Blair’s repertoire.

TOGETHER:
Lovely lyrics and a soft tune added to by Blair’s persuasive voice drawing you in to enjoy the song.

MY LOVE:
The second longest track opens percussively, then enters a short mysterious melody before Blair’s sexy vox kick in. It includes a beautiful trembling vocal moment and passes through into strong rock beats before the close.

YOUR TRUTH:
Electro-beat start, this song has a steady dance rhythm. This is my personal fav from thie album. It showcases Blair’s vocal talents in combination with ‘gotta-nod-along’ music.

HOW YOU WANT IT TO BE:
The shortest track offers clear guitar, great stereo effects, and Blair’s exquisite intonations in a second almost-country song.

MAGDALINE:
The longest track has a melancholic intro leading to Blair’s soft and almost folky voice. The melancholic and folky attributes undercarry the entire song.

SO YOU THINK:
Back to the bop-beat and Blair’s stronger, multiple-reach vox. Once again, you can appreciate the clarity of voice yet you never get bored of the vivacious tone.

WANDERING SOUL:
Another song I had heard before buying the album, this rendition has improved clarity and with Blair’s voice coming over with added professionalism and appeal.

YOU WILL BE MINE:
A second song that I have loved for some time due to hearing it on Blair’s Myspazz page. Somewhat provocative, playful and bold with spirited lyrics. This version has stronger sexuality and added clarity to the previous version.
