The Hackensaw Boys and Bhi Bhiman play a $10/$12 show at The Red Devil Lounge on Sunday. It is to be 21 and starts at 8pm

The Record Release for The Bad Hand's latest offering, 'in this line wish you happiness' will be at 111 Minna Street at 11:11PM on 11 - 1 - 2008. Music starts at 9, It is a 21 event, ID is required, and will cost $5. The event is also listed as the 2nd Annual International Strawberry and Bacon Festival to be presented by Daly City Records.

QUOTE from the band:” Yes! We've made a new record. It took us two and half years to make. We threw it in the garbage twice. We fought and kicked and screamed over it but we did finally finish it and we are very proud of it. It is only twenty five minutes long but it is a very intense twenty five minutes at that. I do want to get one thing straight; the record title "in this LINE wish you happiness," has nothing to do with Cocaine or any other powder related illegal substance. The Bad Hand does not promote drug use. The title comes from Thailand. A few years ago I was a member of Plan USA. As a member of this organization I had a pen pal in Thailand. She was seven years old and lived in a tiny little village. I would pay a small monthly fee which would go to food for her family and education. We would write each other letters and send photos to each other. It was one of the more rewarding things I've ever been a part of. When she would write me she would write me in her home language and someone else would translate the letters for us. She would sign all of her letters "in this line wish you happiness," which is why we included the comma on the end of the title. By saying "LINE" she meant line of text. I think it is a beautiful way to say goodbye to someone and have been signing my emails with it for years now. A lot of people have been asking me about the title so I wanted to clear that up. Thanks

OCTOBER 30 & Halloween Night in San Francisco

Popscream 2008 offers Veil Veil Vanish and Murder Of Lilies in a costume party at 330 Ritch Street on October 30. Also performing are DJ's Nako and Aaron. The event, starting at 9-30pm, will cost either $8 or $10 and be geared to an 18 crowd. It is both a costume party and the release of The Cure Tribute CD.

Swann Danger have a show along with Absence at The Stork Club, Oakland on Thursday. Tickets are $7 and it is for those 21

Cold Graves and The Hauz Band are amongst the bands playing at Your Hauz, Oakland on October 25. 3 other bands are listed to play this $8/8pm show.

Also in Oakland, Budget Rock Seven offers music from a list of bands including: Human Eye, Nothing People, Mantles, Haunted George, Wounded Lion and Bare Wires. The show is set for The Stork Club on Saturday from 3pm, and is listed as 21 and $12

Olehole, Magic Bullets, Master Volume, and Whiting Tennis play The Uptown in Oakland on Saturday night. Music starts at 9pm for this 21 /$8 show

On Thursday, you can catch the farewell tour of Laika & The Cosmonauts playing an all age show at The Rickshaw Stop along with Pollo Del Mar and The Go Going Gone Girls. The show is listed as costing $12 and starting from 8pm.

Elephone also have a show Thursday night, when they play with The Hundred Days and Parker Street Cinema in an Obama Fundraiser at BOTH. The all age show will cost you $10

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass continues on the 4th and 5th October in Golden Gate Park. It is an all age free event and performances from the following musicians are amongst those you can catch: Hazel Dickens, Asleep At The Wheel, The Desert Rose Band, Mike Farris & The Roseland Rhythm Revue, and Bad Livers.

Saturday also offers a Tour Benefit for Stormcrow at The El Rio. The band plays with Born/Dead and Acephalix for $7 in a 21 show
