Hot For Teacher play the Red Devil Lounge on February 1st. This is a 21 show and tickets cost $10/12.

The Privies & Stone Cold Soul share the 21 /free show set for 9pm at Irelands 32. This is on the 1st, also

Warren Teagarden has a solo/acoustic show at the Retox Lounge on January 30. It is a $3 8pm show and also includes Greg Dale of Sorrow Town Choir and The Brothers Lekas.

Josh Fix & Griddle share a 8pm/21 show at CDN on the 30th. It will cost you $10

26th & 27th Jan.

My Revolver are playing a 10pm show - doors @ 9 - at Thee Parkside on Saturday 26th January. Whiskey and Knives are coming up from Southern California to play the concert too. This will be their first show in SF. Also playing the 21 gig are Cobretti, another local band. The venue is located at 1600 17th Street @ Wisconsin and can be contacted on 415.503.0393

Cambo Bravo, Harbours & Two Sheds play a 21 show at the Hemlock on the 26th

The Paper Sons have a show on Friday January 18th at the Hotel Utah. It starts at 9pm and is 21 . Disgust of Us and Superfinos vto. are also playing. Further details can be found at http://www.thepapersons.com

Stiletto have a show at Asia SF, 201 9th St. @ Howard, on January 18th. It runs from 10pm thru 3am for an $8 ticket. Their music can be sampled at myspace.com/stilettosf Additionally, there will be a live performance from Hottub, a selection of DJs, a fashion show that features Improperazzi - (my fav tee-designer) & Chelsea Starr. Hosted by Kylie, MM provides visuals and Rohini Moradi is listed as studio photographer

Skirts on the Rise are playing a show at the Stork Club in Oakland on Thursday January 17th. It is a 9-30pm show and Dagger Of The Mind - a band from Oregon - will also be playing; apparently they 'sing Shakespeare’s plays over heavy metal' which sounds rather interesting! The Dickies, Count Dante, The B-Cups, & Sassy play the Red Devil Lounge on January 11th in a 21 /$15 at 8pm.

If you go to the Rickshaw Stop, 155 Fell St. on Friday, you can catch the Three Kinds of Stupid Dance Party - along with live music from Wallpaper, & 3 resident DJs. The first 100 in the doors at 9pm will get a freebie mix CD. It is 18

Q: Tell me about the origins of your band - when it began, why, how you chose the name…

A: The Common Men started out as a solo project back in late 2004 when I started to amass a collection of songs I had written since 2001 that reflected my interest in Post-Punk music. I was a lead guitar player in a hard rock band but I was looking for something different. After being kicked out of that band, I devoted my full energies to The Common Men and getting band members
