4th and 5th December shows

Radio Suicide play BOTH on December 4th. It is a 7-30pm show, all-age, and $10. Also playing, Enter Shikari & Portrait Of The Artist.

Andrew Burmester, bass-man of Madelia - who incidentally are still searching for a new keyboardist/guitarist - plays a solo at the Make-Out Room on Wednesday December 5th in a 9pm/$6 Penny Arcade show

Kevy Nova's Muffin Fluffer will open for Kidd Cook on November 30th at 930pm. This show is at Skip’s Tavern - 453 Cortland Ave - and there is no cover charge. As added incentive, those who go over to Kevy and say the words 'Bob’s your uncle' will score a free MF tee.

The Thrillionaires, The Crazies Will Destroy You, & Tear It Down play an all age show at Blake's on Telegraph in Berkeley, on Friday November 30th. (21 cost $10, under21 cost $12.) Doors open at 9 for the 9-30pm show

ALBUM REVIEW: ASTRAL~SLEEPWALKER

I do enjoy the thrill of a new album by one of my top ten bands - right from that very first moment when the postie drops a packet in the mailbox and I find it is a CD rather than a bill, through to playing it so often that I have every note and lyric stuck in my head. 2006 gave me new treats from Madelia, Keith Varon, LYP and Shades of Day - and here I am in 2007, with a brand new Astral album to indulge in!
sleepwalker

Sleepwalker is a ten-track compilation of that uplifting solid-wispiness Astral can claim as their archetypal sound. You cannot help but relax into this music; as drifty and daydreamy as incense vapors, as restful as Savasana - if you don't have time for a siesta, play this CD

Saturday, Monday and online music

Saturday November 17 at the Excelsior Playground - located at the intersection of Russia Ave. and Madrid St. - you can hear The Slow Poisoner. It is a 2pm concert and they are followed by Palace Family Steak House in this all age show.

The Passionistas play CDN on Monday 19th at 9pm in a 21 /free show

Sean Hayes is amongst the performers on Thursday night at an all age concert at the Great American Music Hall

Keith Varon music and more

Keith Varon and HIJK are down to play a show together at 12 Galaxies on November 15th at 7pm. Anyone who knows my musical tastes will know that I highly recommend Keith's music to all. He also has a u-tube page with some entertaining videos - covering songs, tours, and other misc. matters. Meanwhile, Keith is offering a free song at his Myspace , QUOTE: "gonna be letting you all have "Never Change" for free this week and this week only! Reason for that is so you guys can spread it like a virus. Kinda like my cold. Spread that sucker around! Make sure everyone you know hears it and downloads it this week. Put it on your profiles. Whore it out to your friends. Say things like Keith is prostituting his song right now. It's all good. Get that thing out there!"

On the 13th November, Chiara Angelicola play BOTH in a 9pm show. Boxcar Saints, Ledbetter, & His Best Bet also play this show.

Josh Fix plays the Red Devil Lounge on Wednesday November 14th. Details can be found at http://www.RedDevilLounge.com and you can buy his new album at the show. First up, Astral - one of my fav. bands - plays the Rock-It Room on Thursday night, with Moon Cadillac, The Evening Episode, and Make Amends. It is a 21 /9pm/$7 show. Details can be found at www.rock-it-room.com

At The Blank Club in San Jose - which is just a 'lil bit' outter town, The Common Men play a show on Friday at 9pm. The show also includes belladonna, zero, and metro

On November 6th at CDN, (Upstairs in the Swedish Hall) you can catch Bob Schneider in a 730pm show that's all-age. It is a $20 event, but $17 for advance bookings
