OrgAniK, that San Francisco sound.

September 19th 2007 15:47
Organized and created by Roy McNeill and comprising of various additional performers, the San Francisco band OrgAniK has a happy sound that can catch your ears and lead you into wanting to hear much more. The band's music is based on acoustic instruments with natural sounds from live recordings being computer-added to produce a melodious, flowing, psychedelic sound.

Roy is a friendly fellow, who travels the world with his seemingly constant companion - a microphone! If you invite him along for a mountain hike for example, he will stop to record the birdcalls and animals in the bush at various moments during the trek. If you invite Roy to your house for a meal, he will spend time recording the chattering TV-radio and the squeaks from your exercise bike, along with consuming the food. All the sounds he accumulates are processed on his computer and added into the organic music of OrgAniK

September 14th 2007 16:53
Keith Varon is setting up a new band. New music has been promised, along with some of Keith's more familiar songs, at a show that you might want to add to the October dates of your diary. The name of the band has not yet been decided, but the show is to be at Blake's on Telegraph on October 20th, and is 18 . I hope to post further details along with a reminder nearer the time for anybody interested in following the latest step in this talented young performer's career.

Meanwhile, Goodbye Gadget have a show at Blake’s on Telegraph in Berkeley on Friday Sep 14, 2007 at 800 PM. It is an all-age show - but you will have to pay $12 instead of $10 if you are under 21

The Paper Sons Fine Line EP review

September 3rd 2007 16:21
Capable, adaptive vocals king it out over their rushing, rapid-rock sound, accompanied by energetic drumming, providing a 'gotta bop' collection you cannot sit still to. If your hips are not swaying, your toes will surely be tapping along to this 5-track EP.

'Shape of Things to Come' is the first song, providing a boppy piece with concentrated vocals
